Hawthorn forward Chad Wingard strained his calf in the club’s intra-club game last week and is now in doubt for the first round.
AFL Media’s Mitch Cleary reports that Wingard has already been banned from the club’s two practice games.
Hawthorn has a fair share of injury problems with Jack Gunston (back), Tom Mitchell (shoulder) and Jack Scrimshaw (knee).
Forward Jon Patton has resigned, while midfielder Tom Scully announced his immediate resignation.
