Rangers’ euro rivals Benfica stopped the rot when a 1-0 win over Paredes in the Taça de Portugal ended a run of three games without a win.
The Portuguese giants travel to Ibrox on Thursday evening while the Europa League Group D frontrunners compete in an exciting match in Glasgow.

Jorge Jesus has rested an entire team for the game with the Portuguese second division side and the Lisbon side were not convincing when they scored a 1-0 win over their lowly rivals.
The result comes after Benfica was humiliated 3-0 by Boavista in the Primeira Liga before saving a late point against Rangers with a captivating 3-3 draw at the Estadio de Luz.
Benfica would then accept a 3-2 defeat against Braga shortly before the international break and would be happy to have returned to winning ways after a poor form.
Preparing to welcome the legendary club to Ibrox on Thursday, the Rangers will be delighted with the team’s performance in Portugal.
After beating Aberdeen 4-0, the Rangers are now 21 games unbeaten and hope to extend this run against Benfica this week.
There is an added incentive to this one as if both sides get all three points they will have a significant advantage in the group that goes into the final two games.

The Rangers were also supported by the new Benfica game of up to six players and Uruguayan striker Darwin Nunez of £ 21million.
