David Warner will consider skipping some tours in 2021 as cricket’s bio-safe bubble is weighing on family time.

Warner is nearing the end of 100 days in front of his wife and three daughters. His two-week quarantine standstill in Sydney ends Thursday.

After Warner and 12 of his teammates Australia on 23. Having left England for a white ball series on August 8, they flew straight to the UAE for the Indian Premier League.

They have since been re-quarantined in Australia before being reunited with their families later that week.

And he admits that this is a factor weighing him down in an uncertain year 2021, with questions about a COVID-19 vaccine and international travel remaining open.

During Home Summer, players can see families in multiple windows, but the coming year is still full of time.

Australia is expected to tour South Africa for three Tests in February and March and could be represented in the final of the Test World Cup in England in June.

At the end of June and July, three ODIs and three T20s will follow, before three T20s against Sri Lanka lead to the world championship of this format in India in October.

« It will be very difficult to do all of the tours, » said 34-year-old Warner.

“The last six months have been a challenge in themselves, getting used to these blisters and not having the family with me.

« There will be times when you can come home and have time with your family. But you have those 14 days on site that you have to do beforehand.

« It’s going to be very difficult and we have to talk to coaches and selectors.

The veteran claimed last summer that he could retire from red or white ball cricket by mid-2021 to extend his career.

That was before Australia, where the T20 World Cup was held, was pushed back from 2020 to 2022 and after the next year in India due to the pandemic.

However, since the next ODI World Championship was not planned until 2023, the prelude indicated that this would most likely be the format in which he could miss games.

« For the next two years, the T20 stuff will be preferred. And then we prepare for the 50 Over World Cup in India in 2023. ”

Meanwhile, Warner announced on Monday that he is unlikely to be featured in the Big Bash while he is still playing international cricket.
